Joshua Keroes is a programmer living in Portland, Oregon. He uses a Powerbook and the Perl programming language to help his network engineers manage their data network.

He’s been known to DJ and on rare occasion, teach. He helps out with Swingout.net, Portland’s site for lindy hop. He has helped throw a successful three day lindy hop and blues dance festival twice.

Bio

1974: Born, grew up in Bedford, MA.
1979: Didn’t take to Tee-Ball.
1980: Liked catching salamanders, frogs.
1981: First grade. Got glasses.
1982: Found affinity for computers.
1983: First tape: Weird Al Yancovic.
1984: Intramural soccer.
1985: Learned to ski.
1986: Started middle school.
1987: Skateboard, skaterock.
1988: Dungeons and Dragons.
1989: Snowboard, photography.
1990: First concert: Fugazi.
1991: Quit skating to focus on study, college.
1992: Played the rapist in school play. Graduated HS.
1993: Moved to Portland, OR for Reed College.

1995: Left Reed.
1996: No money. No job. Lots of couches.
1997: Netscape tech support. Milk crate furniture.
1998: Living in penthouse with 3 other guys.
1999: Started most recent job: programmer at telco.

2001: Pickup truck, fishing.
2002: The creepy spank-me chick.
2003: Learned to swing dance, blues dance.
2004: Karissa. Ran Portland Perl Mongers.
2005: Swing DJ.
2006: Threw national jazz/swing dancing festival.
2007: Burning Man. Drank the absinthe. Ate the worm.
